Sweet Honey & Green Pearls

I roll it out
Open it up
And smell the honey
Little pieces come with me
to the transluscence
Where i pepper them
With wisdom and
tranquility:
Sweet honey
And green pearls
Of insight

Swaddled in the
Translucent membrane
I take to it
The flame of
concupiscence
Desiring that
poetic flight
that only
enraptured
enfeebled souls
may take

Sweet honey
And green pearls of
patience

Fire burns
the membrane
disintegrates
and the earth breathes.
The clouds move
As they would move
anyway, but this time
They move for you
and the clarity of that
tumescent sky
melts you right down like

Sweet honey
And green pearls of
forgiveness.

Into the lake of
forgetfullness
we each carry inside
And from there
bubbles and springs
Into new creatures
Of mellifluous design
Deigning to mask
Further rifts:
Subterranean
Volcanoes
Smoke.  Diffused.

Sweet honey
And green pearls of
Solitude.

Last Night's Shenanigans

Marques opened for his friend Kyp Malone and his new project Rain Machine at this amazing venue under a bridge in Old Street.  The space was vast and made of brick -- it made for a slightly interested acoustic but all in all the show was outstanding.  With Janelle on the Cello, Andy and Carmen on Base and Electric guitars, Ben on the drums and Heidi on the keys -- Kyp's sound is honest and momentous.  Such a calm character but there is power in his voice that shakes you to your core.  It shakes you with goodness, its the only way i can express it.  I found myself inspired to write whilst listening to the set.  Our good friend Dro was there, whilst Emily was missing working on a film set.

The guys have been on tour in Europe for nearly a month now.  Manchester next -- Marques was going to open for them there until we realised the only train he could get home took 9 hours with a 5 hour stop over in cold birmingham between midnight and 5am.  Shame, because it was great to see Marques playing with and for friends.  Heidi is a bundle of sprightly joy, inspiring all who encounter her (included late night bus goers), so good to have her over for a mini slumber party.

Thanks to our supermodel friend Daisy Lowe for hooking us up with the Shoreditch House crew.  Free pizza definitely impressed the crowd -- not so sure about the clientele in that place: not my kind of people lets say -- but i'm glad the band got to feel like the VIPs they are -- bringing so much joy into others' hearts -- we should be able to help such people have a good time more often.  After Shoreditch House -- we attempted the Joiners Arms but they were closing as we arrived -- and there were a few 'colourful' characters in there, shan't say more.

Thank you Rain Machine for gracing and rocking London -- we love you guys

Ode to Sobriety

Just let go of that one belief
that keeps you trapped
in these destructive cycles

The belief that you are enough
for anybody
but yourself

Forget trying to be enough
all attempts
end in vain

For you will only be
as much to someone else
as you are to yourself

and if that is pithy
it is your responsibility
and yours only

Perhaps in giving up
this belief
one can find contentment

with its
obligatory dose
of dissatisfaction
