Consolation
Approaching this …
An unnameable
Purposive
Anguish,
I am reminded
How all the little separations:
When you go to the studio
For a ‘shoot’
Or off into the land of virtual alterity
(When I,
like a nursling babe,
must tolerate the absence of some object of my desire)
Prepares me for the most seismic rift becoming us.
Nausea becomes me as I contemplate that disunion;
Metaphysics can’t help me then. Then I will crumble into millions of little pieces; tears to wash away the debris. There will be nothing left. No-thing will behold me,
Cherish me,
Love me.
It will be like someone untied that balloon and let it float away and I could only watch it getting further and further out of sight.

Sisyphus
He says he loves me and that that 'knowledge' of his love should counter the doubts as if I am the fulcrum of my distress with all the affect of the past weighted down on one side & the apparent (but weightless) entity of 'his love' on the other, almost distant but below the horizon of the clouds.
If only i had the know-how to cast a prehensile gesture towards that sky bound, almost helium quality of love, it might assume form (perhaps a heart shaped balloon, with a tie -- then at least i would be connected with this lofty essence).
I am taken back to that archaic place where love meant hurting each other, where the skin splits open and blood oozes out, creating unforgettable wounds that yet need nursing in order to be remembered and thus to be forgotten. Where plates are smashed into faces and teeth fall out, brothers' fists break noses and create shattering voids in the doors and windows of containment.
In that place, 'i love you' virtually equates to mutual self-destruction -- so can anyone blame me for struggling to be able to use this miraculous elixir, this 'knowledge of love' to undo or outweigh the scattered fragments of myself consumed within those nursling traumata?
For this 'knowledge of love' to take on weight, the balloon must seemingly survive being pierced with all these shards of my annihilation before falling to the earth as substance. As beauty in its transcendent form. Absolute weightlessness yet heavier than any dead form.

Ducks Fly Moon the journey from isolation to relatedness, from internal chaos to the development of a coherent internal world, points to the healing aspects of the psyche, which can be set in motion when psychotherapy in a safe and containing setting is provided (Brian Feldman)
Ducks Fly Moon Bollas argues that only in hating the other can certain people discover a true relation to the object, a fact that requires them to conserve rather than destroy the other...finding meaning through hate...

Shupiwe Savanna
Wow....what would buddhists make of that. I know that to be true. I am there! But whilst you do fine meaning, its perhaps not the best form of meaning which is a problem. Its the type of meaning that slowlys eats your soul, like hatred is acid and your soul is dunked into it. So perhaps it might've been wiser to find meaning in more positive ways....

I have a motto: 'The one who doesn't moan and complain, doesn't enjoy'. I think it's a well hate-tinged object relation to everything basically. But I quite like it... hahaha

Ducks Fly Moon It is a fact of life that a lot of the time we have to do things we don't really want to do out of consideration for other people. -EW

Yes and no. Sometimes isn't it out of consideration for ourselves? So for about 50 hours a week we "work" for "money" so we can have "stuff"? Why's that then? Are we not happiest when we can control our time? Well I am anyway. I am happiest when what I do is my choice and not a forced thing. So to make me happy I would be able to go to work ... See Morewhenever I want. And not forced to be there everyday at 8am. Ditto with home time and hols. Ah you can dream....(Ps been watchin entire season of father ted hence topic of interest! They sit around and do bugger all!)

glad i created some responses...was just sharing some wisdom from my treasured elders
Ducks Fly Moon 'The greatest things than man[kind] has done, he owes to the painful sense of incompleteness of his destiny' muses Madame de Stael (1985)

Ducks Fly Moon welcomes any and all comments on his status...but if its tongue-in-cheek, facetious, jocular, glib, sardonic, sportive, droll or jocose, it won't go unnoticed and i am likely to respond appropriately. That said, my response will be relative to the comments made and henceforth delivered with love.

KILLING TIME...
...not as in -- time to kill
but time to kill time:
the death of time itself.
This morbid fascination
with the bleak & unnoted
passing of all that was & will never be
Along the lines of that
Heraclitian dictum: where one
never steps foot in the same stream twice
The immortal fluidity of being:
the ultimate ground of consciousness
dies thousands of times each day
& yet we fabricate a sense of continuity, of permanence
since the water springs from the same unifying source.
But it never stays motionless, is always impermanent
Eternally coursing into, through and beyond itself
Time is and we are:
the river of forgetfulness itself.

Study-day
little treelings
bouncing beyond
the glass barricade
suffocating me
in this feast of
banality
Watch as they
orbit their
miniature
existences,
dependent on the
eternal buoyancy
of the dreams
made of twigs
& freedom
